Terms of Service
Last updated: 9 August 2026
By using PDF Compress ("the service"), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
1. What the service is
PDF Compress is a free tool that reduces the file size of PDF documents. All processing happens locally in your web browser; we do not receive, host, or process your files on any server.
2. Acceptable use
You may use the service for any lawful purpose. You agree not to use it to process material you have no legal right to handle, and not to attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse-engineer for malicious purposes, or otherwise interfere with the site or its users.
You are solely responsible for the documents you process and for ensuring you have the rights to do so.
3. No warranty
The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
Compression is a lossy process at higher settings. We do not guarantee any specific compression ratio, nor that a compressed file will be visually identical to the original, nor that every PDF will process successfully. Results vary with document content, page count, image density, and the capabilities of your device and browser.
4. Keep your originals
Always retain a copy of your original file. Because processing is local and nothing is stored, a compressed file cannot be reverted and we cannot recover a document for you.
5. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, documents, profits, or business, arising from your use of or inability to use the service.
6. Third-party components
The service loads the open-source libraries PDF.js (Apache 2.0) and jsPDF (MIT) from a public CDN. Those components are governed by their own licences and are provided by their respective authors without warranty.
7. Availability and changes
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the service, in whole or in part, at any time and without notice. We may also update these terms; continued use after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
8. Privacy
Our handling of data is described in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
